Getting started

From a new install to a published schedule, in the order most teams do it.

  1. Install Erlangly on a Linux server, then open the setup link it prints and create your organisation and admin account.
  2. Try the sample data if you'd like to explore first: Load sample data on the Schedule page's Start here card (or under Settings → Organisation) gives you a sample contact centre of 500 agents, three lines of business and ten weeks of history. It doesn't count towards your licence, and you can remove it in one click.
  3. Follow the Start here checklist on the Schedule page: it ticks off the main steps below as you do them (lines of business, history, people, forecasts and shift patterns), until you're ready for a first schedule.
  4. Set up your structure under Settings: sites (each with its time zone), lines of business and their ACD queues, and teams.
  5. Add your people one by one or from a spreadsheet: their lines of business, contract hours and ACD IDs.
  6. Connect your ACD under Settings → Connections (which ones, and how): matching its queues to your lines of business reads their volume history, and agents' states feed adherence. No connector for yours? Import volume history, at least six weeks of it, by CSV or the API.
  7. Forecast each line of business, check the service target and shrinkage, and publish the forecast.
  8. Describe your shifts as shift patterns (Settings → Shift patterns): days, start windows, lengths, and where breaks go.
  9. Choose whose labour law applies (Settings → Organisation, per site, or per person), and review the rules.
  10. Create a schedule period, generate drafts, compare and edit them, then publish.
  11. Invite your agents so they can see their schedules, ask for time off and swap shifts. Each needs an email address, which the people import brings in. With email set up, choose Invite to sign in under People to invite everyone on the list at once. Without it, invite people one by one from their pages and copy each link to them.
